Admissions
It is always exciting to welcome new students. In order to be maximally accommodating, registration at ISB is possible throughout the entire school year (assuming there are free places in the classes).
Contact visit
Prior to formally applying to the school, families are welcome to visit us anytime. ISB staff members will be happy to provide a tour of the facilities, to introduce families to teachers and students and answer any questions about the school and registration process. These visits are best timed during the school day in order to observe the school in action.
To arrange a visit, please contact:
Mobile - Head of School: +420 776 490 120

Once the decision to register has been made, families should provide the school with the following documents:
- the completed registration form - download here [PDF 231 kB]
- a copy of 1 parent's passport
- a copy of the student's passport
- translated copies of the most recent progress reports from the student's current school
- all pertinent documentation detailing the student's education thus far (Behaviour Plans, Individual Education Plans, Special Educational Needs documentation, Advancement Plans, etc.)
Assessment
Once the registration package is received by the school, it is necessary to confirm incoming students' current stage in their education and their needs. In most cases, students are placed with their peer group; however, in order to be sure that all students are appropriately challenged each and every day, the school prefers to use internal assessments to make this determination. It is preferred that these assessments take place prior to the start date.
For Students Who Are Just learning the English Language
The school will recommend the student receive EAL support in accordance with their needs and we will monitor their progress carefully.
For students entering Secondary and High School, it is possible that an individual education plan (IEP) will be recommended in order to ensure that the student is given time to attain a minimal level of English proficiency prior to starting the Cambridge IGCSE or IB DP. These decisions will be made collaboratively, with families included in the process. The aim in these situations is always to do what is in the student's best interest.
For Students Enrolling to High School
Before students are registered to the high school, they are assessed in English and Maths, so that their current stage of learning and English proficiency can be determined. These tests can be written at ISB or at another location provided there is a guarantee that they will be written in appropriate conditions.
The assessments will allow the school to place the student in the best year group. Please note that a student’s current progress and/or English proficiency may result in the school recommending an extended study in plan in the high school.
ISB can provide career guidance in order to ensure that upon leaving ISB, students have options and/or have taken the necessary steps towards a career path they would like to pursue.
Acceptance
Once the assessment process has been completed and the plan for the incoming student is established, the Education Contract and Payment Agreement can be signed. The Education Contract is always signed between the Legal Guardian and ISB; the Payment Agreement can be signed between ISB and the remitter. In cases where the Payment Agreement will be signed with a third party, the Legal Guardian is asked to ensure that contact is established. These documents are best signed as soon possible in order to guarantee placement (please note that places are reserved until the registration fee is received – See ISB Tuition Structure).
